Reading is the act of interpreting words in books (or at least, how we've strictly defined it here, cough).

Kiri's Reading Challenge 2025

Re-read books, DNF books and other non-notable books are not included in this list. The only books included here are those from the self-imposed challenge, and other books substantially enjoyed and would be likely to read again.

Challenge rules: read 3 books minimum during the month.

  • One selected by Caspurr to meet his personal reading goals for 2025
  • One recommended either by family, friends or others (e.g. staff picks or librarians’ choices)
  • One I select for myself which may be more in my wheelhouse, but is something I would normally put off reading or be less inclined to read

This is in service of doom-scrolling less in 2025.

There is no guarantee that spoilers can be completely avoided in my commentary, but I will avoid alluding to any specific plot points or significant events as much as possible.

January 2025

Kiri was rearing to get started, and enthused to read a lot of new (and some different) books this month! She has a newfound interest in Greek/Roman mythology again!

February 2025

This was a stressful month, so Kiri was more into re-reading this month. Caspurr was too busy and isn't up to date with his reading challenge, so Kiri had to substitute something.

  • Nimona (2015), by ND Stevenson
  • Final Approach (2016), by John J Nance [Rec]

March 2025

This remained a stressful month, so Kiri was more into reading things that felt comforting. Caspurr was still too busy to keep up his reading challenge.

  • Ever The Same (2021), by BA Tortuga (Love is Blind Book 1)

TO READ

  • Anyone’s Ghost (2024), by August Thompson [Self]
  • Skeleton Crew (1985), by Stephen King [Cas]
  • March 2025: Fourth Wing (2023), by Rebecca Yarros [Rec]
  • Warriors: The Prophecies Begin Series by Erin Hunter - Book 1: Into the Wild (2003)

Rubenerd Reading
